He just nodded trying not to look too much like an idiot and trotted into the kitchen and began rummaging in the upper cabinet for the tea, finding it without too much trouble... noooow tea kettle...*

*He came back and started fishing around for things to cook.* ...did you say you wanted something lighter?

Heh, thanks. *He scooted over, pulled open the said cupboard and pulled out the kettle and filled it with water*

Mm, I think you said something like chicken and rice? That sounded good.

Right. Sorry, I guess I'm a little tired. It's what I get for being lethargic for a week.

*He fished around for the kitchen and started to cut it up and get it all ready to pan fry.*

No problem. I don't mind helping out a little. *He set the kettle on the stove and started the water to heat*

I can do something more if you want me to start the rice too or something?

*Put the chicken in the pan to start frying with just a bit of olive oil. Went over to Maguri, pecking him briefly on the lips.*

*The blonde froze in place, blinking and blushing at the quick kiss yet again.*

W-Well, if you're sure.

*He went and sat at the kitchen table while he waited for the kettle to whistle, just kind of watching Hibari cook, letting things sink in slowly*

*He went about seasoning the chicken, stirring it up, getting the rice all ready and on the stove to cook. Yawned now and then, a little tired. But the tea would help him quite a bit, once it was ready. If only that water would boil faster!*

*He was just turning to take care of it when Maguri finally hopped up out of his seat. Nodded, poking and prodding at the sizzling meat.*

...it should be done in a short while. Maybe ten minutes. Was there anything else you wanted? I might have some pickled vegetables..

That could be good, but you really don't have to go to a whole lot of trouble...

Yes, please... *He took his tea cup and sighed softly. He took a long, long sip, feeling a bit better.*

Mm. It turned out good.

*Maguri preened a little, clearly pleased* Really? I'm glad...

*He took his cup and sat back at the table, reaching into his pants pocket and fiddling with the ring he'd left in there. He couldn't bring himself to keep wearing it, but he sort of wanted to keep it close too...*

*The chicken was done before long and he served them both up, one small plate with chicken and then a small bowl of rice and another small bowl with miso soup. He brought it all over two at a time to the table and brought chopsticks, napkins.. finally satisfied, he sat down and sighed softly.*

..what are you playing with? Something in your pocket?

*Maguri's head shot up from looking over the food eagerly (he was a teenage boy and hadn't eaten that day after all) with a guilty look. He pulled his hand from his pocket immediately*

It's really just been practice. A desire to improve..

*Shrugged lightly and sipped his tea.*

*Chewed thoughtfully for a moment then nodded to himself* I guess I'm not surprised, you seem pretty driven to be good at whatever you do.

Kyouyan's kind of an amazing hard worker like that, huh?

*Hibari picked at his food, a little embarrassed suddenly.*

...I suppose. I don't like to be bad at anything.

Hehen. *Maguri just smiled at him and went back to eating, enjoying it thoroughly before he finished his drink and realized that Hibari may have too* Oh hey, do you need more tea?

I do. *He almost continued on to say that he could get it himsel, but.. well. Might be nice to not have to fetch his own tea, so he waited to see what Maguri would do.*

Ah, I'll get it! *And with that Maguri hopped out of his seat to retrieve the teapot without a moment's pause, trotting back with it to the table. He stopped a second and looked to Hibari's empty cup and shrugged and poured him a new cup before sitting down, leaving the pot there for them both (in the meanwhile forgetting that he'd wanted some as well)*
