Well I make twice as much at my job as rent is here. I need to be able to get food and things I need and buy things for you when I feel like it.

So I can't really cut back on my hours at all.

Eh? But I don't want you to overwork yourself so you have money to spend on me at all, okay? I mean, it must be a little harder with no roommate here, huh?

I worked just as much before I had a roommate, I just wasn't going to school. Now I'm juggling eight hours of each. So I get four or five hours of sleep accumulated throughout the day and I sleep in on weekends.

*Opened his mouth to say something only to shut it again, a worried look on his face*

... Were you supposed to work tomorrow, Kyouyan?

Don't worry about it, Chestnut. It doesn't matter.

*Kissed his cheek, obviously trying to avoid the subject.*

*That worry turned into a full-out frown again* But if you can take the time off to go with me, you should use it to rest instead! And if you had the day off, I can... I can just deal with it and go by myself anyway.

I actually have tomorrow off already so don't worry about it. I'll come with you. Don't argue. *He had to look away from that frown, it was guilting him too much.*

Damnit, I shouldn't have asked you. I didn't really have any idea you were working that much on top of school. I'll handle it myself.

You asked me to come. I'm coming. So stop it or I'll make you stop it.

*Maguri shut up and looked away, sulking. Excuse him for worrying about his boyfriend.*

*Took Maguri's face into his hands and gently turned his head to face him.*

I didn't mean it like that. Come on... *Tipped his head forward and kissed him*

*This time even the kiss didn't seem to soothe the teen and he pulled away a little* I know you are all able to take care of yourself and probably like being independent and stuff, but... damnit, that means you have to actually take care of yourself and you're going to have to deal with me worrying about you!

I mean... *He fidgeted and fixed his eyes on the floor* I love you and... I just want you to be happy and healthy and all that.

*Sighing softly, he nodded and stepped away from Maguri, going to wash his tea cup.*

...I am taking care of myself. I love you too and I'm glad that you would worry about me like this but it's no--*yaaaaawn*--not.. an issue. *Paused to rub one of his eyes. He probably looked pretty tired and worn out.*

Please just let me deal with the jail stuff tomorrow alone? I can't have you go with me everyday anyway, right? And it may take a little while to fix this. *Oh that thought clearly made him unhappy* So I'd have to go alone eventually either way.

I'll come over right afterward even, promise. Just rest tomorrow. Please?

*Hibari was quiet as he washed his cup and dried it, putting it away. He kept his back to Maguri, in thought. After a moment, his shoulders drooped and he nodded.*

...I will rest tomorrow.

*Maguri sighed quietly and went over and wrapped his arms around the other boy from behind, hugging him gently*

Thank you. I-I'll make it up to you when I come back from work, okay? *He leaned his chin on Hibari's shoulder* And you'll be proud of me for standing up to anyone on my own, right?

*Leaned back against Maguri and stifled another yawn.* Mhm...

I am very proud of you for wanting to stand up to them on your own. But it took me being partly out of commission to do it.. *fingerwags for you, Maguri!*

Y-Yeah, well... *And since he didn't have an argument for that instead he turned his face toward Hibari's and nipped his ear lightly and playfully* It's a start or something, right?

*Shivered, looking away in embarrassment.*

*Maguri just grinned, oblivious to the effect that had had and gives Hibari a squeeze and nuzzled the back of his neck* Anyway, I should probably toss on a shirt and head over there soon so that guy can see my hair...

*Hibari turned around in the other teen's arms and hugged close to him, kissing him briefly.* ...might as well go now. The sooner you find out, the better, right? Be safe.

Mm, exactly. *Kissed him in return and headed off to finish dressing, speaking as he went* I'll write you a line before I'm on my way back over so hopefully I don't wake you when I get here.

Okay. If I don't respond, that's fine, just let yourself in. I keep the door unlocked.

*Yaaaaaaawned and made his way into the bedroom, changing into pajamas to hop into bed.*

*Maguri had been about to turn and protest that practice when he realized who he was talking to. Anyone who dared break in and wake Hibari up would pay for it dearly anyway, so... it didn't matter did it?* Sleep well, Kyouyaan! *He grabbed his journal and headed out, hopeful that he'd be back with a solution*

*Hibari was in bed and dead to the world within five minutes! Zzzzz mm delicious sleep.*
